Workshop of "Buon fresco" technique in the House of frescoes in Draguć
This valuable painting technique on the limestone plaster was used on historic architecture, especially sacred and refined interiors. Today, you can have unique experience and try yourself in painting in educational and creative workshop at the House of frescoes under the guidance of fresco painter prof. Hari Vidović.
The workshop is for everyone and can be adapted to each participant, duration is 2 hours. It consists of visits to nearby churches of St. Rok and St. Elizej and making of fresco in the Houses of frescoes in Draguć. During churches visit, the participants will be familiar with the wall (fresco) painting, its characteristics and specifics, while in the House of frescoes will be teach about old "Buon fresco" technique and will try to paint their own small portable fresco. Participants will have the opportunity to choose the substrate and theme for the painting, to do the drawing sketch, and to prepare and plaster the substrate with frescos layers of "arriccio" and "intonaco" and its painting with the pigments in a way of the recipe of the old "buon fresco" technique. Upon completion, each participant takes his fresco as his own souvenir.
