Town walls of Sveti Lovreč
Sveti Lovreč
Sveti Lovreč
Sveti Loreč is one of the best preserved medieval fortified towns in Istria. As the headquarters of the captains, the walls were expanded and upgraded during the 14th century, but their renovation had to be paid for by the citizens themselves. Its power at the time is evidenced by the impressive Funtanela Tower, the nearby triangular tower and the beautiful bell tower that was once a defensive tower with an eastern entrance door. The door was later walled up.
