"The Sheep in the box" is the literary and visual awards for the best Croatian picture book and it has been awarded since 2005. The prize consists of the sculpture OVCA U KUTIJI (the sheep in the box). It is the only award in Croatia where a jury composed of writers, literary critics and illustrators (members of the jury are changed every year) reviews the entire annual production of picture books and evaluates the artistic value of the text and its relation to the illustration. The best picture is chosen by an independent jury.
